Beijing August 31, 2010 Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 8:11AM Literary Death Match Beijing’s debut episode last April at The Bookworm Beijing was such a smash hit, it inspired us to keep going global. Now, with five international cities under our belt, we’re back in Beijing with a ridiculously talent-rich lineup featuring all-star judges Gady Epstein [...]

I’d like to blame Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs on my latest project acceptance: a cartoon! After watching the cheerily cheeky aforementioned film, I thought ‘Gee, wouldn’t it be fun to be in a cartoon? And SO much easier than filming an actual movie!’ and well, here I am! Got a phone call when [...]

Spent this morning at a study in the northern outback of Beijing’s Haidian District filming a silly little commercial for the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China I think I’m meant to be a sexy secretary and/or corporate executive (is there a difference?). I mean, from a costuming perspective, of course. Ha. But still [...]

And just in case you aren’t yet on the email list, go to the CMT website here and subscribe: http://www.cheekymonkeytheater.com/email/email.html In further randomness, I was amused when I saw this headline in Vanity Fair: Rob Corddry Believes “Fear of Clowns” is Not a Real Thing. My first response was “Hello, yes, of course clown-phobia is [...]

So Cheeky Monkey has come up with a new series of workshops (which is essentially for me to work with lots of playwrights and actors on a wide variety of mini-plays) called Chinglish Chats. http://www.chinaredneck.org/ 上周六我带了几个玩皮猴子成员去我朋友张宇在昌平的有机农场看看。

Recently as part of the Week of Work program that the Western Academy of Beijing (aka: WAB) does for its 10th graders every May, Cheeky Monkey was approached about taking an intern (or 8). And, rather than just having the kids come and work on another production for Cheeky Monkey (ie: really just organizing name [...]
