projects I’m workin on

A list… just for reference :)

~ Green Eyes on Chinese (Cheeky Monkey Production)

  • redoing the play about learning Mandarin that I produced this past fall, it will be up in the last weekend of April at the Peng Hao Theater (off of Nanluogu Xiang, next to Central Academy of Drama)

~ Kung Pao Shakespeare (another Cheeky Monkey Production)

  • this show is brand new and has a ginormous cast (well, for a Cheeky Monkey show, anyways) of 14 actors, both Expat and Chinese and is mostly in English.  It will be up at the Canadian International School in mid-May :)

~ Agent Penny Project (in correlation with Citibank and The Learning Society)

  • Cheeky Monkey is partnering with an NGO to bring drama and financial education to elementary schools in Beijing and Shanghai in the Spring and Summer of 2009.  Based on the popular “Agent Penny” comic book series, the show is in English and Chinese, with heavy comic leanings to enhance the educational process.

~ China Radio International’s  ”Laowai Kandian” Program

  • this CRI program is on at 11:30am and 9:30pm on 90.5FM and has proven to be a lot more fun than I had originally predicted.  Its in Mandarin only, but as two of the three hosts are Expats, its not overly difficult for intermediate students to understand.

~ Tianjin TV’s “Top Chef” Program

  • well, I haven’t been kicked off (yet) but this is a wacky show with silver spaceship air hostess costumes where I get to learn how to make awesome Chinese dishes and hang out with some fabulous other girl (contestants) :)  Its on Sundays at 8:40pm (yes, they start their TV shows at different times here)

~ as yet untitled documentary about food in China :)

  • I’ll leave it at that for now… I’m still in the “uploading film” process :)
